Finally the lectures by Williams and Zumbrun deal with the stability of multidimensional fronts. Williams’ lectures describe the stability of multidimensional viscous shocks. Zumbrun discusses planar stability for viscous shocks with a realistic physical viscosity, and necessary and sufficient conditions for nonlinear stability.
