She is the author or co-author of nearly 300 original articles, numerous book chapters, Associate Editor of the Red Book 2000, 2003, 2006 and the upcoming 2009 edition.
She also is an editor of the 6th edition of Infectious Diseases of the Fetus and Newborn Infant, considered the definitive textbook on this topic.
She is a past President of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and current President of the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases. In 2007 she received the Distinguished Physician Award from the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society.
